So you are considering volunteering? Great we need all the help we can get. There are a number of ways a volunteer can help.

Probably the single biggest way you can help is to spread the word. You can do this in a number of ways. Print flyers and put them up on bulletin boards at schools, laundry mats, grocery stores, anywhere you can think of. You can put those flyers on doors and on car windows (you are responsible for your own actions, so be careful not to trespass or damage cars). You could even do a mailing. Be creative. You could also take out a newspaper ad or other form of advertising. Please send us a copy of the ad you are going to run before you do it so that we can make sure it is okay.

Obviously signatures are the cornerstone of this effort. You can collect signatures in a number of ways. You can print out copies of the amendment and with a simple signature sheet collect signatures outside local events, city halls, or the post office. Make sure to get their full name, date of birth, and have them date it with the current date. Be sure that the signature page clearly states that the signer asserts that they are 18 years of age or older, agree to the petition, and are a lawful US Citizen under penalty of perjury.

Probably the easiest way to collect signatures is to bring a laptop with you and have them use the signature page of this website. Then you don't have to worry about having enough blank signature sheets or us not being able to use your signatures because you misunderstood our instructions.

There is always more that could be done. We need official cost effective flyers, signatures pages, and other ready-made material designs that other volunteers can just print and use. The materials we do have, including the amendment itself and this website certainly could use competent editing.
